Whether you’re getting married or going through a separation or divorce, a change in marital status can impact your benefits. Taking a few timely steps can help you stay aligned and supported during this transition.
What You Need to Do
- Update your benefits in the UKG Portal within 30 days of your marital status change to add or remove your spouse from coverage.
- Provide documentation of your status change, such as a marriage license or divorce decree, through the UKG.
- Review your premiums in the Eligibility & Enrollment page to understand how your paycheck deductions may change.
- Update your beneficiaries for your 401(k) and Life and AD&D insurance plans to reflect your current wishes.
- Adjust your contributions to your Flexible Spending Account (FSA) or Health Savings Account (HSA), if applicable.
- Review supplemental coverage and consider enrolling your spouse in (or removing them from) Life and AD&D insurance.
- Reach out for support through the Employee Assistance Program (EAP) if you’d like help navigating personal or emotional changes.
