When to Enroll

You have three opportunities to enroll in or change benefits during the year:
  • Open Enrollment, your once-a-year opportunity to enroll or make changes to programs for the next plan year. The Open Enrollment period is typically held in the spring, and your benefit elections will be effective for the entirety of the plan year unless you have a Qualifying Event.
  • Newly hired employees must enroll in Ferrotec’s benefits within 30 days of your Hire Date. If you miss your New Hire Enrollment period, your next opportunity to enroll will be during the annual Open Enrollment period, unless you have a Qualified Event.
  • If you have a Qualified Event, you may be able to make changes to your benefits within 30 days of the event. Typical events include:
    • Change in marital status
    • Birth or adoption of a child
    • Death of a dependent
    • Change in employment
    • Loss or gain of other insurance coverage
